In August 2018, I will be heading back east towards where I grew up and completed my BSc. I'll be joining the faculty at the University New Hampshire, in the Department of Biological Sciences! I envision building a team that will research fish ecology in freshwater, estuarine, and coastal landscapes.
I do have funding a couple of graduate students! So if you are interested in fish movements, predator-prey interactions, and/or bioenergetics, please get in touch with me (n.b.furey@gmail.com). The earliest start date at UNH would be Fall of 2018 for graduate students. As I establish particular research projects, I will post them. I will also post resources for students considering (or within) UNH's graduate programs within the Department of Biological Sciences in the near future.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my academic career thus far, and I am very excited for this incredible opportunity to continue to build a research program that informs the field of ecology and the conservation and management of fishes.
