The Fish and Movement Ecology Lab is very excited to announce that first-year graduate student, Aliya Caldwell, has been selected for the prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (NSFGRFP). The NSFGRFP provides three years of funding for the student over five years, and is given to outstanding students in STEM fields. For more information on the program, see: https://www.nsfgrfp.org/.
Aliya's research, supported by New Hampshire Sea Grant, is investigating linkages between seabird diet and fisheries productivity in the Gulf of Maine, using a mix of localized fisheries sampling, seabird tracking and monitoring, and quantitative analyses of long-term datasets on seabird diet and fish productivity.
