Two of our MS students recently gave presentations on their thesis research in the high Canadian Arctic, focusing on the movements and feeding of Arctic char and sculpins. Both Lars' and Nate's work focuses on fish behavior during the spring ice-off that provides a bloom of productivity to exploit after a long, cold, dark winter.
Lars' talk on char movements and feeding (Lars starts about 20 minutes in) - presented at UNH's School of Marine Science and Ocean Engineering annual Graduate Research Symposium (more info here)
Nate's virtual poster and talk on sculpin feeding - presented at UNH's annual Graduate Research Conference (more biology presentations here)
