The Cod and the Tern: predators, biodiversity, and the impact of climate change to marine ecosystems

Read about the Furey Lab's new $1.25 million grant from the Office of Naval Research and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in this UNH Today press release by Robbin Ray. The grant will support a 5-year research projected incorporating seabird and predatory fish telemetry (acoustic and GPS), environmental DNA, active acoustic monitoring, and traditional fisheries sampling to investigate the impact of climate change on rapidly-warming Gulf of Maine's diverse ecosystem. With collaborators Allison Watts (UNH), Elizabeth Craig (Shoals Marine Lab), Graham Sherwood and Riley Young-Morse (GOM Research Institute), and Jackie Motyka (Northeast Regional Association of Coastal Ocean Observing Systems).
